What to expect from the 4 Week Surf Accelerator

Class 01: Three Keys To Speed

Date: June 1st 2023

Matt’s Location: El Salvador

Time: 10:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time)

2:00 PM NZT (Auckland Time, next day)

Before anything else we need to understand the three main ways in which we create speed on a wave to maximise our surfing. Without quality speed within your surfing, all attempts at performing bottom turns and maneuvers will be compromised.

Bonus: How to build speed into your surfing before even standing up on the wave.

Class 02: Bottom Turn’s

Date: June 12th 2023

Matt’s Location: New Zealand

Time: 9:00 PM Auckland Time

5:00 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time)

Traditional vs new school? When it comes to performing quality manoeuvres with speed and power throughout the turn you need to perform the right type of bottom turn for the section and manoeuvre of choice. Learn the two major types of bottom turns and when and where to utilise each one of them.

Class 03: Throws - Arm Work

Date: June 15th 2023

Matt’s Location: New Zealand

Time: 8:00 PM Auckland Time

4:00 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time)

Every single manoeuvre both forehand and backhand has an important arm throw element that needs to be performed correctly to create the turn. Some turns have a lot more emphasis on the arm throw than others and understanding the key action phase as it pertains to the arm throw is critical to becoming a competent and capable surfer.

Class 04: Pedalling - Leg Work

Date: June 22nd 2023

Matt’s Location: Bali

Time: 10:00 PM Auckland Time

6:00 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time)

Pedalling through your turns correctly is critical to transferring your weight correctly through your turns. The pedalling phase is essentially when you straighten out the back leg and suck the front knee in when turning the board from going up the wave to down the wave. This allows you to implement what many know as the kick of the back foot which helps you accentuate your turns.

Bonus: Barrel riding tips, ask Matt anything about barrels and tube riding to grow your understanding of getting barreled and how to make it out of the tube.
