SUMMER HOLIDAY CAMP Whangamatā

 

INTRODUCTION

The Art Of Surfing (TAOS) is running a summer holiday camp in Whangamatā for frothing young male and female surfers between the ages of ten and fourteen.

Three days packed with surfing, video analysis, heat drills and surf-skate training.

Sign your child up for as little or as many days as you like.

Try us out for 1 or 2 days or jump on board for our 3-day discounted package.

LOCATION

We will meet at 8:00 am each morning at access 8 Esplanade Drive Whangamatā

(Look for us on the grass next to the access 8 sign post)

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Held in Whangamatā over three days, this camp includes:

  • Expert surf coaching with The Art of Surfing

  • Video analysis sessions

  • Competition training & heat drills

  • Smoothstar skateboard simulation sessions

  • Equipment evaluation and advice

  • A copy of all your footage from the camp

Kids must bring their own packed lunch and be dropped off at 8:00 am each morning and picked up by 1:30 pm each afternoon.

WHO CAN GO

This camp is designed for kids 14 years of age and under who have their own surfboard, are confidentially paddling into their own waves and looking to develop their manoeuvres.

Note: This camp is strictly limited to 10 kids per day to ensure a high-quality experience.

A TYPICAL DAY

8:00 am: Check in at access 8, Esplanade Drive.

8:30 am – 10:00 am: Filmed surfing session #1

10:00 am - 10:30 am: Morning tea

10:30 am – 11:30 pm: Video analysis of the first session

11:30 am – 12:00 pm: Lunch & surf-skate practice

12:00 pm – 12:10 pm: Discussion of instructions and goals for surfing session #2

12:10 pm – 1:30 pm: Surfing session #2 with in-water coaching

1:30 pm - Day finished, kids ready for pick up.
